Indian Wells Art Show
The photo below is of me working on a painting in 106 degree weather in lovely Indian Wells at the Tennis Gardens on the weekend of April 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I met wonderful artists and art collectors at this lovely show. I have been working on this painting in my studio since arriving back home. The nexg image shows progress.
The painting below is of a Anika (from Germany) pouring water from an antique German pitcher. The collection of pitchers belongs to Dirk who lives next door.

On another note I met with my former teacher, Mario Rueda, this past week. I had not seen him in many years. He is about to turn 93 years old and still as sharp as can be. I photographed him in front of some of his paintings as you can see below. Mario was a billboard painter for Foster & Kleiser for many years and taught painting at LA Trade Tech. All those who studied with Mario loved and adored him. He was the first teacher to introduce me to methods of the masters and he is a true icon of modern art. Mario studied with George Lukits who was a master painter.Lukits was an assistant to Dean Cornwell on the mural painting in the Los Angeles downtown library.
I studied with Mario in the mid 1980's through the early 1990's.
He was and is a brilliant painter, and a beloved human being.
 
He is just fabulous!!!!!
